National Haulier of the year 2010
In association with the Road Safety Authority of Ireland and Schmitz Cargobull the 2010 Fleet Transport Awards programme reached its climax on Monday 5th October at the Gala Dinner at the Marriott Johnstown House Hotel, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland.
Johnston Logistics were awarded the National Haulier of the year accolade from over 36 finalists in 12 categories. The award is recognition of the standard to which the Johnston Logistics fleet operates including, driver training, safety, quality and compliance.

IT Investment
An industry first - ETA live on line for each delivery and collection on our system with restricted access by customer.
ETA system is Rolled out as part of our move to a Web based integrated On Line Booking for deliveries and collections, Track and Trace status per job, ETA and POD On Line facility. This integrated web solution was developed with our Transport software supplier to provide our customers with a unique integrated simple Management Information System and deliver reduced cost with added value.

New Equipment Investment
Continued Capital investment in Equipment has seen the delivery of 10 new Donbur Double Deck trailers to the fleet in October. The aerodynamic trailers running on low profile tyres have increased the internal available trailer space by 25% with less than 3% Fuel economy loss and are primarily used for inter depot trunking within Ireland and for moving Full trailer Load's (FTL’s) with up to 52 pallets / load capacity. The trailers come with secondary internal curtains for load securing in addition to internal strapping.
In addition, 8 new Scania R420 4 x 2 sleeper cab tractor units were added to the fleet via Delaney Commercials Naas. The tractor units are supplied with a full service back up and to ADR spec. All tractor units in the fleet are double manned and operate from Regional Depots and the Central Hub in Rathcoole.

Heated Storage Facilities at Rathcoole
Johnston Logistics are delighted to announce the addition of our Heated Storage Facilities at Rathcoole, Co. Dublin from April 2008. The new facility was originally developed for the storage of paper products sensitive to the ingress of moisture and is presently maintained between 16° and 24°C.
Phase one caters for 1000 pallet spaces however further phases with expanded or reduced temperature ranges at Cork or Dublin are available. Facilities available include storage of Pharma, Food, Hazardous and General products.

Additional warehouse capacity
Due to continued growth of the pick and pack element of the Logistics division, additional warehouse capacity has come on stream to bring the available space to 15,000 bar coded locations over our Dublin, Cork and Limerick facilities, with further expansion plans for Qtr 1 2008.

Irish Medicines Board - Wholesalers Licence
Following a very successful audit the Irish Medicines Board have granted Johnston Logistics a Wholesalers Licence.
The award of this licence allows Johnston Logistics to further expand the range of logistics services we offer to the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors, including the storage and transportation of active ingredient and finished product.
This Wholesalers Licence added to our proven track record in Stock Management and Transportation gives you the confidence of working with one of Irelands longest established and most advanced Logistics service providers.
